The drama, adapted by Karin Slaughter from her own novel, stars Meghann Fahy as a lawyer who witnesses a school shooting and Rose Byrne as her successful New York-based sister. Brendan Gleeson plays their father, also a lawyer, drawing the family into the legal aftermath.

The story opens with a flashback in which the sisters witness their mother’s killing, then connects that trauma to the present-day case. Its early episodes combine courtroom mystery, family conflict and repeated crises, with the sisters’ contrasting lives supplying much of the tension.

The series premieres on Sky Atlantic at 9pm on Thursday, November 12. The production adds to Byrne’s recent work following Platonic and her award-recognised performance in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.
